Company description

Independent Connection Provider of choice for customers across the United Kingdom, providing world-class services from design to delivery. Whether you’re a Distribution Network Operator, Independent Distribution Network Operator or operating a private network, our comprehensive range of electrical engineering services can provide the solution for you.

Leading provider of high-quality electrical supply solutions including, Substations, Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Cable installation, cables and overhead lines, cable network operations, Electrical installation to meter from main supply. We are an ICP = Independent Connection Provider. ie we are independent providers of electrical supply connections as opposed to being an IDNO which stands for Independent Distribution Network Operator. Western Power for example is a DNO (Distribution Network Operator.

An ICP is an accredited company that can build electricity networks to agreed standards and quality required for them to be owned by either a Distribution Network Operator (DNO) such as Electricity North West or an Independent Distribution Network Operator (IDNO). We are accredited with NERS. The National Electricity Registration Scheme (NERS) is a UK wide accreditation scheme operated by Lloyd's Register. Its purpose is to assess the technical competence of Independent Connection Providers to design, project manage and carry out electrical connections.

DNOs distribute electricity from the transmission grid for a large geographical area, whereas IDNOs distribute electricity from either DNOs, or the transmission network, to smaller local areas.
