Glossy website claiming best quality reproduction furniture available in UK. Creates impression of top quality goods at reasonable prices certainly not a small outfit run from a private house. Items supplied were very, very poor quality. Visible splits in framework. Hardboard tacked to visible area of mirrors. Black tacks used to secure soft covers. 5 items ordered on an 18 week delivery. Eventually delivered after 33 weeks. 3 items badly and visibly damaged. I item totally incorrect ( cream not white) and also badly and visibly damaged. Packing and damage were such that damage most unlikely to have been incurred in transit. Prior to delivery lousy communications and no customer service. UK delivery with their courier an absolute farce taking two weeks. Initially told reason for delay was that 4 from 8 items were missing, (we only ordered 5) then 2 items missing then 1 item missing. Throughout this two week period Supplier insisted all 5 items were with the courier. Finally Supplier confirmed dressing table mirror had in fact been misplaced and not sent to the courier but was now found. This was subsequently packed by the owner/director despite being damaged and being a completely incorrect item. Post delivery all defects correctly recorded in accordance with Suppliers instructions but there was no response whatever to numerous phone calls and e-mails over a full 4 week period. Then an email “Can you please let me know what the issues are and I will look into it for you The phones will be back on early next week and we have just got the computers back up and working after a accident with our main server I am sorry you have had problems with getting hold of us but by early next week it should all be sorted out” Full details sent by return. After 2 weeks no response whatsoever. Further chase e-mail sent and at last a response “We have been moving warehouse and area moving to west sussex from Stafford so its been a very big move. Due to BT we have still not got our phones on and our internet until another 9 days ive been told. I have just got the internet on in my house and read your messages I was not aware that you had issues with your mirror and stool From your images I can not see any damage Can you please tell me what is wrong with them and why they was not returned with the couriers like you did last time with the damaged chest? Please can you let me know. Your images are blurred and I cannot see clearly” Never ordered from Classics Direct before. Certainly not a Chest and certainly never sent one back Final e-mail with all details sent and now another two weeks without response. I am now taking third party action to seek redress.
