Helping your dog understand what is expected of them will help your dog feel safe and become a very well balanced pet, providing you offer your dog what they need and in return you can have what you need.
Something as simple as stroking your dog at the wrong time can cause your dog to misunderstand what you want from them and this can be the cause of some of the most aggressive of behaviours. In fact some of the most aggressive dogs I've worked with over my 30+ year working with these amazing animals are not those that have been abused as many would believe, but those that have been offered nothing but love.
