I appointed Mr Mckenzie to conduct a full building survey. After completing on the property I invited 4 builders to quote on some works (nothing structurally – more cosmetic). All 4 builders independently of each other immediately spotted damp on the top floor. All 4 builders identified the cause of problems by opening velux windows and looking out at the roof. I then went back to Mr Mckenzie report, not only had he missed the problem he had actually taken 3 photographs of the issues with the roof (via the same velux windows) and never commented or highlighted anything. Mr Mckenzie and I agreed on a settlement which he has yet to pay me the full amount, he ignore my emails and phone calls. On the occasion when I managed to get him to answer (using a different number) he claims to be in a meeting and promises to call me back – which he has yet to do. I can only describe my experience as a terrible appointment with very expensive consequences
