Kathryn Aalto is an American teacher, designer, speaker, and New York Times best-selling writer of creative nonfiction focused on the natural world.
For the past twenty-five years, her creative practice has fused nature and culture: teaching the literature of nature and place; designing beautiful and sustainable gardens; writing about the natural world. Based in England, she teaches popular online and live writing courses, mentors aspiring writers, and leads writing retreats.

Kathryn is the author of three books including Writing Wild: Women Poets, Ramblers, and Mavericks Who Shape How We See the Natural World (2020), The Natural World of Winnie-the-Pooh (2015). A personal essayist and book reviewer, her work has appeared in magazines throughout the world.
Kathryn oversees thriving online writing courses in creative or narrative nonfiction for life-long learners. Limited in size and international in scope, Kathryn’s live classes criss-cross time zones with students attracted by quality course material, guest speakers, and detailed feedback.
Kathryn travels widely as a keynote speaker at museums, universities, libraries, arboretums, book festivals, garden clubs and conservation groups.
