In March 2012, after standing empty for over 2 years, the former Lloyds Bank built in 1910, opened its huge, imposing front doors to a new venture known as the "Mothertown Fish & Salad Bar". The old bank vault door still remains in place and is a lovely feature of the building – our kitchen is now in the vault!
A new local chip shop with the option to takeaway or sit in. Run by husband and wife team Steve & Julie and staff members.
Good old fashioned steamed Steak & Kidney puddings. Soaked mushy peas like your Nan used to make...Chip shop curry, gravy and Fresh homemade chips, 100% Cod fillets, battered or in breadcrumbs. Young’s King Prawns in light hot n spicy batter. Scampi and Plaice are available. Pasties & Sausage rolls. Our COMBO ideal for 2 to share: 2 x mini fish, onion rings, scampi & spicy king prawns..for £6.00.
All fish is made to order, so please be prepared to wait a few minutes whilst it’s prepared...
Whilst waiting for your food to be freshly prepared, why not
take a seat and enjoy a hot cup of coffee, tea, cappuccino, hot chocolate, mocha or latte. Cold drinks are available too. Apple juice, fizzy drinks, milkshakes, isotonic energy to name but a few.
In the warmer months we serve a choice of ready packed pasta Salad bowls. Prawn, Chicken, Tuna, Salmon...
