The roots of the partnership dates back to 1885 when its two founding members, George Poppleton and Charles Appleby, joined together to form an accountancy practice specialising in insolvency. The business prospered and Poppleton and Appleby became a nationwide name for insolvency based in Sheffield, London, Birmingham, Manchester and Cardiff. In 1984 the national practice was broken up and each office traded independently. Since then the Sheffield office has expanded to become one of the largest independent business recovery and insolvency firms in the country and changed its name in 2004 to ‘The P&A Partnership’.They are now the leading business & company insolvency services provider in UK with 125+ years of experience.
