The Rho family of proteins is the first cloned protein in the Ras superfamily. They are a group of guanosine triphosphate (GTP) binding proteins with a relative molecular mass of about 2025 KD, which have GTPase activity and are called the "GTP enzymes". The Rho GTPase plays an important role in the regulation of cytoskeletal reorganization.
