About 5 months ago we purchased a car from West Drive Kia Braintree. At the time of purchase we were assured by the salesman that the vehicle will be thoroughly checked and provided with a comprehensive 6 month warranty. He proudly boasted how thorough the vehicle check was and the support the warranty would give - “you name it and it's covered!” were the words. Within days of taking ownership of the vehicle we started to encounter problems. First the Satellite Navigation failed to work. Then the CD player system failed. Then the fuel gage sensors failed. Then the Suspension Fault lit up and to top it all, the electric Parking Brake failed!! That isn't all - then the steering shudder appeared! The staff in the service department were disinterested, rude and far from apologetic right from the very start. The car went in a couple of times, unsuccessfully as they didn't fix anything and made out that they couldn't find some of these faults! They tried to fix the SatNav but then they said it isn't covered by the 'famous' warranty - but if that's the case why bother trying to fix it in the first place? They fixed the CD player but lost 5 of our CDs! It took them months to find them and post them to us. They returned the car without any fuel when we brought it in with a full tank! They provided us with false information, telling us we had to pay for the diagnostic ourselves but the figure given grew by a third by the time we actually brought the car in! Needless to say they tried to make us pay for the courtesy car! Refused to deal with them any further in the end, contacted Office of Fair Trading and is seeking legal advice. Feel conned into buying a complete lemon of a car which we barely had 5 months! Do not use West Drive Kia Braintree!
