Peter Waters reviewed MINSTER MOBILITY

Appalling service, I would advise avoid like the plague! There is neither care nor compassion to be found in this business. (The showroom address is now 12 Acomb Court, Front Street, Acomb, York YO24 3BJ) On 27th January 2012 I bought from them a new Brooks 120 Stairlift which had numerous problems from the start, and were brought to their attention on numerous occasions, which is a major problem in itself. The telephone is frequently not answered, messages on the answer phone are ignored. If you can get through, invariably the owner/service engineer is not available or "not in York", time and day of return unknown. Ask for someone to get back to you and nothing happens. This is not what you want to hear if you are disabled or elderly and have a non functioning stairlift or mobility scooter you spent a lot of money on, which has left you stranded upstairs or downstairs in your home, or in the case of a scooter on a pavement somewhere. In my case I have little choice but to reject the stairlift under the Sale of Goods Act as not being fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality, and am having to buy a replacement from a reputable company which is backed by AgeUK.
